DSAW is excited to partner with the Pink Umbrella Theater Company to bring you Porch Play! This session's book will be Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Porch Play is a sensory-immersive, and individualized experience of bringing a story to life, led by Porch Play teaching artists, who are trained in special education, inclusion, theater, and social-emotional learning. Porch Play's lesson for the day will be uniquely designed to foster confidence, creativity, and connection between participant and caregiver. Pink Umbrella will provide all of the materials and activities for a magical, one-of-a-kind class. Following the program, each participant will receive a Pink bag with themed items and ideas for extension activities, so the fun and connection can continue after the class!
Note: this event is for individuals with Down syndrome and related disabilities, ages 8 and under, and their parents or caretaker.
