A class for transition age youth individuals with Down syndrome and other special needs on healthy living and wellness as well as money management, and other independent living skills. 

The wellness curriculum includes lessons on nutrition, independent cooking, regular exercise, and the importance of relaxation. The financial management curriculum includes lessons on budgeting, cash management, and basic financial exchanges. The class goal is to build knowledge and skills critical to independent living. 

WHEN: Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30am - 2:30pm. (1 hour of fitness is included at the beginning of each class) Fall semester runs thru December. 

WHERE: Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (6255 N Santa Monica Blvd, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217) ***another session is offered at the DSAW headquarters in West Allis - please check event calendar to sign up for that location. 

 PAYMENT: This class is IRIS billable, or can also be paid for privately. 

DSAW charges fees for some recurring programming because of the cost of curriculum, staffing, occupancy, etc. However, participant’s ability to pay should not prohibit attendance! Please contact DSAW if you need financial assistance.
