Memory Cafe: Alzheimer’s and Down Syndrome
Presented by the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin
Sponsored by the generosity of Bader Philanthropies
Join us for a casual meet-up of individuals with Down syndrome and their caregivers! This is a chance for caregivers and individuals with Down syndrome to learn more about the relationship between Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s. Adults with or without Alzheimer’s are welcome to join us. We will have a fun scrapbooking activity to do together - bring some favorite photos!
In addition, there will be a brief presentation on Alzheimer’s and Down syndrome along with resources to take home. This presentation is valuable for any adult-aged individual with Down syndrome. Snacks and drinks will be provided!
WHAT: Memory Cafe for individuals with a dual diagnosis of Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s/dementia, and their caregivers. This cafe is also a great opportunity for adults with Down syndrome (in their 20s and above) and their caregivers to learn about Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s and to gather resources for the journey ahead.
Note: your loved one does NOT need a definitive diagnosis of Alzheimer’s/dementia to participate.
WHEN: December 6 from 4pm - 5:30pm
