“It is our belief that every child should experience the esteem of being an independent toileter. It is intrinsically tied to self-confidence and dignity. Sometimes the road to independent toileting is blocked by obstacles related to a child’s disability, medical status, emotional makeup, or learning history. Training a child with special needs often requires special knowledge and techniques that are not instinctive or logical. This workshop will provide participants with special tools to address toilet training problems. The Potty People uses research-based, ABA methods to teach independent toileting”.
Toilet Training for Every Child is presented by Alice Belgrade-Moss of The Potty People, a division of Belgrade Behavior Consulting, LLC.
Speaker: Alice Belgrade-Moss
A board certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Alice earned her Masters Degree in Special Education and Rehabilitation from Northern Illinois University. She received her degree and certification in behavior analysis from Penn State University. Her experience spans over 25 years in the fields of education and behavior analysis. She is the owner and director of Belgrade Behavior Consulting, LLC, and The Potty People, a private practice devoted to applying behavior analysis to improve the lives of children and their families. She has provided home-based behavioral consultation, worked in community-based agencies and public schools and is the current behavior analyst in Woodland District #50 in Gurnee, IL. Her expertise includes children with Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, ODD, learning disabilities and other neurological conditions. Her workshops, presented throughout the United States, provide a blend of sound behaviorist theory with practical, accessible techniques, realistic goals and real life applications. She has authored the manuals, Toilet Train Every Child, and Fitting in Everywhere (skills for successful inclusion), as well as a children’s story on Autism, My Sister Emma and Me.
