DSAW provides one-on-one services, group classes, small groups, and more for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages across the state of Wisconsin. Children’s Services

DSAW staff provide one-on-one daily living skills training at home and/or in the community. We work with your family to accomplish your child’s goals and help them to achieve their dreams! See below for examples of our one-on-one services.

  • Money Skills - cash and card transactions, counting money, making change, using ATMs, card readers, vending machines, etc.

  • Easy Meal Prep - making a sandwich, salad, healthy snack, packing your own lunch, microwave cooking skills, etc.

  • Safety - at home or in the community; when to call 911, answering the door, crossing the road or parking lot safely, being aware of your surroundings, etc.

  • Social Skills - with peers and in the community

  • Self Care - hygiene, coping skills, stress reduction

 
 

Adult Services

DSAW staff work with our participants to set individualized goals to help achieve independence in various areas, including:

About Our Staff

DSAW Home & Community-Based Services staff members are highly trained, thoroughly background-checked, and ready to serve your family! The majority of our staff have college degrees or are working towards their degree currently, and all have experience working with people with disabilities. Above all, our staff have a passion for helping individuals with Down syndrome and related disabilities exceed expectations and achieve their dreams!
